American Academy of Pediatrics Extends 2005 National Art Contest Deadline for Children
CHICAGO, May 26, 2005
There is still time to enter the American Academy of Pediatrics' National Art Contest. The contest is open to boys and girls in two age groups, grades 3-5 and 6-8. The winner in each age group and their parents/guardians will be invited to attend the 2005 AAP National Conference & Exhibition in Washington, DC, on October 8, 2005, for the culmination of the AAP's year-long 75th anniversary celebration. The contest closes June 20, 2005.

Both age group winners will receive $500 as will their schools; the second-place winners will each receive $250, with $250 for the child's school. Winners and some other entrants will have their artwork featured on the AAP Web site at http://www.aap.org/ and in other promotional materials. The theme of the contest is "Healthy things to do."

To enter, children should submit an original piece of art to: American Academy of Pediatrics, Art Contest, 141 Northwest Point Boulevard, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.

Official entry forms must accompany all entries and are available online at http://www.aap.org/75/artcontest.htm . The deadline for submitting entries to the AAP National Art Contest has been extended. Entries must be postmarked by June 20, 2005. Winners will be announced on the AAP Web site in July 2005 and will be notified in writing.
