Pacific Amphitheatre is Callin' You Out for Music
COSTA MESA, Calif., June 13, 2005
The Pacific Amphitheatre will open its gates again for nightly concerts during the 2005 OC Fair, July 8 -- 31 (closed Mondays). New this year, admission for all Friday and Saturday shows is only $19.99, which includes free Fair admission.

Opening the 2005 OC Fair Summer Concert Series, The B-52's perform on Friday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. Naming themselves after Southern slang for exaggerated bouffant hairdos, the B-52's have launched many barn-burner party classics, such as "Rock Lobster", "Private Idaho", and the Top 10 hits "Love Shack" and "Roam." Pop-hybrid duo Junior Senior will open the show. All tickets for this show are $19.99.

Blue-collar comedian Bill Engvall performs Saturday, July 9, at 8 p.m. Engvall released his first album, "Here's Your Sign," in 1996. Collaborating with musician Travis Tritt on the "Here's Your Sign" video made Engvall a fixture on the playlists of CMT and TNN. The single became the most requested single on country radio and was ranked No. 1 on Billboard's Country Singles Sales Chart for 10 weeks. Since then, Engvall has gone on to release a total of nine albums, made numerous television appearances and became one of the co-creators and stars of the "Blue Collar Comedy" tour and television show. All tickets for this show are $19.99.

The Steve Miller Band comes to the Pacific Amphitheatre on Sunday, July 10, at 8 p.m. Evolving from one of the top blues guitarist to one of the best selling rock artists of the 1970's, Steve Miller has been reinventing himself for over 35 years, scoring Top 40 hits with a string of catchy songs such as "Rock'n Me," "Jungle Love" and "Fly Like An Eagle."

Hootie & the Blowfish broke onto the American music scene in 1994 with their debut album Cracked Rear View. Tonic and Cracker also perform.

Grammy-award winner Julio Iglesias has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, performing in Spanish, Italian, French and English. He first achieved crossover success with his 1984 duet with Willie Nelson, "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" from the album "1100 Bel Air Place." Iglesias' latest release is 2004's "Divorcio." He will perform Wednesday, July 20 at 8 p.m.

"Rock en espanol" comes to the Pacific Amphitheatre with Maldita Vecindad, Aterciopelados, and Inspector on Friday, July 22, at 7 p.m. Mexico's Maldita Vecindad's second album, "El Circo," (1991) became the best selling album in Mexican history. Their latest release is 2002's "Juntos." The music of Colombian duo Aterciopelados is an indefinable blend of third world rhythms and the best of today's modern rock. Mexican ska revival ensemble Inspector released their latest album "Unidad, Cerveza y Ska" in 2004. All tickets for this show are $19.99.
