OfficeMax Helps Chicagoans Celebrate Their Favorite Baseball Teams With the OfficeMax Crosstown Classic 'What's Your Team?' Sweepstakes
ITASCA, Ill., May 27, 2005
OfficeMax(R) (NYSE:OMX) , one of the nation's largest office supply retailers, is helping Chicagoans celebrate the longstanding rivalry between Cubs and White Sox fans with a Crosstown Classic "What's Your Team?" sweepstakes. One lucky Cubs and White Sox fan will each win the ultimate fan experience including game tickets, throwing a ceremonial pitch at a Cubs or White Sox baseball game, team jerseys, dinner with a team personality, and watching batting practice on-field. OfficeMax also will give away more than 10,000 prizes with instant-win game pieces that will be distributed throughout Chicago during the month of June.

Through August 31, Chicago Cubs and White Sox fans can visit any one of OfficeMax's 46 participating Chicagoland stores to register for a chance to win the ultimate fan experience with their favorite hometown baseball team.

The Cubs' ultimate fan experience winner will receive four tickets to the Cubs' September 24th game at Wrigley Field, in which the winner and their guests will watch pre-game batting practice on the field, have dinner with a team personality and receive four team jerseys to sport their loyalty. The lucky fan will throw a ceremonial pitch, and dine post-game with a team personality and their guests.

The White Sox ultimate fan experience winner and three guests will enjoy United Scout Seats behind home plate during the team's September 22nd game at U.S. Cellular Field, and enjoy pre-game festivities including watching batting practice on the field, a photo opportunity on the field, and talk sports for an hour with a former White Sox player. The winner also will throw the game's ceremonial first pitch and have their name posted on the U.S. Cellular Field video board during the third inning. The winner and their guests also will receive four team jerseys.

To enter, fans can fill out an entry form and drop it into a blue ballot box (for the Cubs) or a white ballot box (for the White Sox) at any local participating Chicagoland OfficeMax store.

"As a Chicagoland-based company and the largest area office products provider, we understand that Chicagoans have a strong alliance to their favorite hometown baseball team," said Sam Duncan, president and CEO of OfficeMax. "Just as we support individual choices in office products, we are proud to celebrate this long-time Chicago baseball rivalry by helping fans support their chosen team."

OfficeMax also will hand out team-neutral, instant-win game pieces at the Cubs-White Sox games at Wrigley Field on May 20-22, at the White Sox-Cubs games at U.S. Cellular Field June 24-26, and through other Chicagoland promotions. Fans can decode the game pieces at participating Chicagoland OfficeMax stores to see if they have won one of more than 10,000 prizes, including a grand prize of an ESPN Zone private party for 12, second-place prizes of an HP digital camera or third-place prizes of a Cubs or White Sox poster. Each game piece also contains an offer for $20 worth of games at ESPN Zone for $10, and $10 off any purchase of more than $20 at local OfficeMax stores.
