The theme of this year's show, "FashioNation," organizes student designs by famous U.S. city streets, including: Broadway, Peachtree Street, Rodeo Drive, Ocean Avenue, Bourbon Street, and Route 66 (a 1950's inspiration). In addition, each year students collaborate on a themed collection with a senior fashion faculty member. This year's group effort features all-white formal designs themed for Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.
Judges for the fashion show include: Randi Layne, former model and owner Catwalk Productions; Joseph Plata, owner/fashion designer, Joseph Plata Designs; Heidi Parikh, costume director for the Atlanta Ballet; and Bauder Fashion Design Alumni O'Neal Wyche, assistant designer for Heatherette, and Vanessa Henderson, owner and designer of LaVie Designs.
Tickets to the event, which benefit student scholarships, are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance purchase is recommended to guarantee reservations. For tickets, please call Bauder College at (404) 237-7573.
Leading designers such as Donna Karan, Heatherette, Baby Phat/Phat Farm, Ecko Menswear, and Tiffany and Co. have all tapped into the talent pool of Bauder's graduates to meet their needs in technical design, merchandising, styling, and management.
