Enjoy Complimentary Lemon Ice - Now Sweetened With SPLENDA(R) Brand Sweetener - June 21
Culver's(R) restaurants are mixing two of the best things in life on June 21 -- summer and complimentary dessert. To celebrate the official start of summer, participating Culver's restaurants are giving away its popular Lemon Ice treat to guests. The giveaway also reintroduces Lemon Ice with a lighter twist, as the summertime treat is now sweetened with SPLENDA(R) Brand Sweetener.
"June 21 signifies the beginning of everything that's good about summer: carefree, warm days; time spent outdoors with friends and family; and frozen treats," says Craig Culver, Culver's co-founder. "That's why we wanted folks to come down to Culver's and get the summer started off right -- with icy, cool Lemon Ice."
A Culver's tradition each summer, Lemon Ice is made fresh daily with real lemon juice and is like eating real Lemonade with a Spoon(R). Culver's replaced the sugar in its Lemon Ice recipe based on requests from guests seeking a low-calorie dessert without sugar. A recent consumer survey conducted on behalf of the Grocery Manufacturers of America found that 73 percent of respondents reported they are buying more nutritious and healthy foods, including 49 percent who are seeking sugar-free options.
Lemon Ice has no fat, is about 50 calories and has only 12 carbohydrates per 7 oz. serving. Lemon Ice sweetened with SPLENDA(R) Brand Sweetener also makes the light, delicious treat a tasty option for the millions of Americans on low-carbohydrate diets like Atkins or South Beach because of the low amount of carbohydrates.
Lemon Ice is the cool summer treat that can be served to you four fresh ways: plain, topped with real fruit toppings, blended with a fresh fruit topping or blended with Culver's Frozen Custard.
