Celebrity Pastry Chef Gale Gand Re-Invents the Classics With Launch of New Summer Dazzler(TM) Frozen Desserts
Serious dessert aficionados will have a chance to try something way beyond the ordinary at Haagen-Dazs Shops nationwide this summer thanks to executive pastry chef Gale Gand, renowned cookbook author, Food Network star and co-owner of the famed Tru Restaurant in Chicago. Combining Haagen-Dazs ice creams and pure, indulgent ingredients together with her critically acclaimed culinary style, Chef Gand created three signature Dazzler(TM) frozen desserts just in time for summer -- Zesty Lemon Meringue Pie, Triple Chocolate Black Forest Cake and Tira Mi Su.
"Summertime is the perfect excuse for enjoying big, refreshing desserts like the ones I created for Haagen-Dazs's signature Dazzler dessert line," says Gand. "With these new treats, I reinvented classic desserts in surprising new ways, making them the perfect summer indulgence."
Gand chose three of her favorite desserts and recreated them with Haagen-Dazs finesse and craftsmanship:
-- Zesty Lemon Meringue Pie: A classic pie re-imagined as a sundae. This
refreshing treat combines new Haagen-Dazs Light Vanilla Bean ice cream,
Lemon sorbet, a splash of tangy lemon curd and vanilla wafer crumbles,
finished with whipped cream and a cookie garnish.
-- Triple Chocolate Black Forest Cake: An enticing dessert for true
chocolate lovers only. This creation includes rich Haagen-Dazs Triple
Chocolate ice cream, indulgent fudge brownie chunks, juicy cherries, a
dollop of whipped cream -- and one more cherry to top it off.
-- Tira Mi Su: A delightful adaptation of the mamma of all Italian
desserts. This frozen delight features Haagen-Dazs Mocha Chip ice
cream, moist chunks of yellow cake and creamy Italian-style mascarpone,
finished with chocolate whipped cream topping and a dusting of cocoa.
Ice cream lovers can enjoy Gale Gand's signature Dazzler frozen desserts in their local Haagen-Dazs Shop starting Friday, June 10 and continuing all summer long.
Gale Gand is the executive pastry chef and co-owner of Tru Restaurant in Chicago, the host of Food Network's Sweet Dreams and the co-author of five cookbooks, including Gale Gand's Short & Sweet and Gale Gand's Just a Bite.
