Using only organic ingredients and no gums or artificial colorings, Straus’ artisan ice cream harkens back to the old fashioned ice cream of the past.  Made with fresh cream and milk from cows that graze the rolling hills of northern California, these super premium ice creams contain 17% butterfat, and are made with just a few high quality ingredients including cream, milk, sugar and egg yolk.  Their mint chocolate chip ice cream surprised them when they discovered the true color of peppermint extract is clear!

In addition, Straus has redesigned its ice cream packaging to include cows drawn by their late mother, Ellen Straus, who was known for her whimsical and often colorful sketches of Straus dairy cows.   Ellen Straus co-founded the Marin Agricultural Land Trust which has protected more than 35,000 acres of farmland in Marin County from development.

The new Straus ice cream flavors join the current line of Dutch Chocolate, Raspberry and Vanilla Bean and are available in pints and 3 gallon buckets.
