Student Loan Funding Initiates Partnership With Ohio Independent College Organizations, Launches Web Portal to Assist Families, Students
CINCINNATI, June 15, 2005
Student Loan Funding has pioneered a new partnership between Sallie Mae, the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO), and the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) to communicate the value and affordability of independent colleges in Ohio via a new Web site: http://www.ohioprivatecolleges.com/.

"AICUO is pleased to be partnering with Student Loan Funding and OFIC to create ohioprivatecolleges.com," said Dr. Larry Christman, president of AICUO. "Student Loan Funding's commitment to college opportunities enables us to better serve students, parents, high school guidance counselors and colleges."

"This collaborative effort to develop a valuable online resource for Ohio's private colleges will help any family, student or non-traditional student in their quest for higher education in Ohio," said Jeffrey S. Wolf, president, OFIC.

By logging onto the site, students and parents can now prepare for college, select a college, navigate the application process, or obtain financial aid. The site enables OFIC and AICUO to manage their paying for college content online, while leaving maintenance of the Web-based infrastructure to Student Loan Funding, an Ohio-based student loan provider with a 24-year history in education finance. By managing the content online, OFIC and AICUO also can communicate with their alumni and member institutions.

"This partnership formalizes a long working relationship between our organizations and provides an unmatched resource to students and families considering a private college or university," said Jim Eickhoff, president of Student Loan Funding. "Through this new Web resource, we hope to encourage more students to pursue college by communicating the accessibility and affordability of education in Ohio."
