Hungry for Health Recipe Book Promotes Prevention Message of Cancer Education Center
WYNNEWOOD, Pa., June 13, 2005
Are you digging your grave with your fork? Do you want to lose weight, have more energy, and prevent disease?

Because people are often confused by fad diets or overwhelmed in the kitchen, Susan Silberstein, PhD, founder and director of the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education, has written Hungry for Health, a new recipe book ($17.95) available online, including at http://www.beatcancer.org/.

Silberstein outlines four fundamental dietary principles and offers 157 no-guilt recipes. Her guiding criteria are healthful, simple and tasty.

"If you think eating healthy has little taste appeal or demands too much time in the kitchen, you're likely to go after fast food or junk food," says Silberstein, who lost her husband to cancer when he was 30. Her goal is to show you how to prepare healthful fast food that tastes really good.

Strongly plant-based but not strictly vegetarian, Silberstein's recipes cover much more than just soups and salads.

From appetizers and snacks to sweets and treats, from entrees and sides to juices and smoothies, Hungry for Health contains something for everyone. There are also informative sidebars with Tasty Tips, Helpful Hints, or Nutri-Notes, as well as witty and wise quotations about nutrition.

Hungry for Health has been endorsed by doctors and nutritionists nationwide. Hungry for Health is "a necessity for anyone interested in healthy eating - from the beginner to the committed vegetarian," says Dr. Pamela Popper, Executive Director of The Wellness Forum. The book represents "healthy cooking as it should be - fun, easy, delicious and exciting!"

Silberstein lectures nationally on nutrition, cancer prevention, and complementary medicine. She is a trainer for Ultimate Health Group, creator of the video Breast Cancer: The Diet Connection, and originator of Philadelphia's annual Food & Health Expo.

The Center for Advancement in Cancer Education is a not-for-profit information, counseling and referral agency. It provides nutritional, immunological and psychological resources for cancer prevention, prevention of recurrence, and support during or after treatment. Since 1977, the Center has provided services to over 25,000 patients and healthcare professionals nationwide.

Profits from sales of the book benefit the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education. Hungry for Health, $17.95, is available at 888-551-2223 or online including at http://www.beatcancer.org/.
