Rep. Tubbs Jones formed the 11th Congressional District Military/Veterans Task Force to provide the Congressional office with suggestions and input on how to better serve our military community throughout the district.

She will also discuss new legislation including the bipartisan H.R. 303, the Retired Pay Restoration Act of 2005 and H.R. 2131, a new GI Bill of Rights for the 21st Century. The Retired Pay Restoration Act of 2005 would end the Disabled Veterans' Tax for about 400,000 military retirees with service- connected disabilities, who were left behind under the partial repeal enacted in 2003, and would speed up the end of the Disabled Veterans' Tax for the remaining disabled military retirees. The new GI Bill of Rights for the 21st Century will provide better education, health care and job training benefits for those serving in the military.
