Designed for use by law enforcement or other government agencies, these products allow for cellular communication to be controlled in a specific area without affecting communication in other places. "The control of communication is paramount to avoiding danger to the public and to Law Enforcement Officers," states Howard Melamed, CEO of CellAntenna Corporation. They need CJAM to be able to silence the cell phone of criminals before a raid, or a suspected cell phone bomb when dismantling it." CJAM products only jam the downlink signal and does not interfere with any cellular towers. Areas as small as a room can be jammed without interfering with cell phones in the same area. The CJAM 100 is a cell phone-size portable cellular jamming device designed to defeat cellular communication within a small area. It is effective at distances less than 12 feet and does not interfere with communication at other frequencies. The CJAM 500 is a more advanced device that interferes with the downlink between tower and cell phone to insure a cellular communication-free environment with a maximum jamming distance of 30 meters. This device comes with a range adjustment to control the size of the coverage area, which allows for one room to be jammed while communication takes place in other areas. The CJAM 500 also has a unique Signal Detection Mode that allows the unit to remain off until a cellular signal is detected then turns on to jam the signal. The CJAM 1000 is a powerful portable cellular jamming device that interferes with the communication of up to three frequency ranges specified by the customer for a maximum radius of a half-mile. Using antenna technology the CJAM 1000 'beams' the jamming signal into the area of control while allowing for the use of communication in areas that are not of concern. CJAM Integration is a design technique used by CellAntenna engineers incorporating cellular jamming into a cellular repeater package used to solve in-building cellular signal problems. "We have the Yin and the Yang of this industry," Melamed said. "On one hand we provide cellular amplified signals in a particular building so that cell phones can be used without dropped calls. On the other hand, when required by emergency situations, CJAM silences all cell phones in the building." About CellAntenna Headquartered in Coral Springs, Florida, CellAntenna Corporation has more than 18,000 customers throughout the United States, Europe and South America.
