Trumba's OneCalendar Bringing 'Summer Sanity' to Busy Families Seeking to Stay Organized This Summer
The lazy days of summer? They don't exist anymore according to a new national survey(1) that shows almost half of women say summer is becoming the busiest time of year because of the increased number of social and family activities that need to be juggled and scheduled.
Work doesn't slow down just because the calendar shifts to summer and combined with other commitments, the swirl of activity is making it more challenging than ever to keep track of summer events, women say. Almost half of the women surveyed (44 percent) agree that they are more like to over commit to family, friends and social obligations in the summer.
"Summer is great, but there is a lot more going on that I have to manage. I work full-time, but school's out and I have to schedule extra activities for the kids. We are also planning several family vacations and get-togethers with friends, which means more time on the road and coordinating more schedules. It's easy to lose track of who needs to be where," said Amy Eggler, mom of two, Seattle, WA.
The survey results reflect responses from women ages 18 to 34 and was conducted by Harris Interactive for Trumba Corporation (www.trumba.com), which today officially introduced the commercial version of the Trumba OneCalendar -- an online solution that helps individuals easily manage their busy lives in one advertising-free master calendar.

(1) Survey Methodology
Harris Interactive(R) (www.harrisinteractive.com) fielded the study from May 31-June 2, 2005, via its QuickQuery(SM) online omnibus, interviewing a nationwide sample of 2,311 U.S. adults aged 18 and over, of whom 390 were women aged 18-34 years. Data were weighted to reflect the total U.S. adult population on the basis of region, age within gender, education, household income, race/ethnicity, and propensity to be online. Though this online sample is not a probability sample, in theory, with a probability sample of this size, one can say with 95 percent certainty that the results for the overall sample have a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points of what they would be if the entire U.S. adult population had been polled with complete accuracy. Sampling error for the sample of women aged 18-34 is plus or minus 8 percentage points.
