Matching Jobs With Candidates in D.C. Is Easier Than Ever Thanks to washingtonpost.com and ELISE
PALO ALTO, Calif., June 13, 2005

Local Job Web Site Leapfrogs Its National Competition With Superior Bi-Directional Matching Technology

WCC Services U.S. Inc., a software company dedicated to delivering faster, more meaningful match results, today announced that washingtonpost.com, the online version of The Washington Post, has completely revamped its popular Jobs section, with the use of ELISE matching technology. The new ELISE-enabled site allows employers and job seekers to conduct more focused searches and find one another in much less time. Washingtonpost.com is the first major news site to offer businesses and job seekers this new way of searching.

There are many ways to organize and search through information, but when it comes to helping job seekers and businesses find each other, matching technology offers unique advantages in comparison to traditional databases. Most critical to users on both sides of the search is bi-directional matching, which applies the criteria of both parties -- jobseeker and employer -- to the match to ensure that they are mutually interested. ELISE produces higher quality matches because it takes into account the needs and desires of both parties.

"The Classifieds section is our main profit center. We felt it was important to invest in the right technology and bolster our position as the primary resource for jobs in the Washington region," said Liddy Manson, vice president of Jobs, Cars and Real Estate for washingtonpost.com. "We selected ELISE because it allowed us to offer unique services to our users. We're proud to be the first news site to bring this exciting technology to our customers."

"ELISE is the most powerful job database technology on the market," said Peter Went, CEO of WCC Services. "WCC's matching technology has been successfully utilized by professional staffing firms for years. We are very pleased to work with the washingtonpost.com to bring this effective technology to businesses and job seekers in the Washington DC area."

"Meeting the needs of our customers is paramount. WCC's bi-directional matching tools not only reveal the best candidates for the jobs, but also the candidates most likely to accept the position," said Ken Barbieri, director of Jobs, washingtonpost.com. "Our goal is to ensure that job seekers and employers find each other as quickly and efficiently as possible."

The revamped Jobs went live on March 31, 2005. "WCC provided fantastic support and insight throughout our implementation. Their expertise was critical to the success of this project," added Barbieri.
